Welcome reception Sunday, 8th June Poolside of the Hyatt Regency Hotel
Conference day 1 Monday, 9th June
Session 1: Freighter availability
With demand outstripping supply, and the cost of fuel making the Boeing 747-200F uneconomical for all but a few operators, there is a dearth of options available in both the medium and large widebody market. Here we study the availability, cost and operating economics of the various options, and what the leasing and financing companies can offer to operators to help fulfil their needs.

Session 2: Airports: Friend or foe?
Airport costs are rapidly rising for freighter operators, but is there justification for the increases? Many of the major hubs are concentrating on passenger services at the expense of cargo. In addition, monopolies in warehousing, handling and service suppliers, make profitable operations from many major hubs almost impossible. We discuss what can be done by airports to make freighter operations more sustainable in the future.

Session 3: Fuel: How to cut costs for freighter operators
Fuel prices have skyrocketed and now comprise between 35-50 per cent of all costs for freighter operators. Here we look at the real drivers in these costs, expert advice on what to expect over the next year and the measures freighter operators can take, such as hedging to reduce exposure. We also look at the geographical differences in fuel prices and the prospects of operating to markets that now make economic sense, thanks to lower fuel costs. We also look at the role airports play in fuel pricing and whether freighter operators can act in unison to pressurise against monopolies and have increased leverage against the fuel companies.
