We are currently recruiting for a Head of Supply Chain for a 40 + year UK manufacturing and distribution business, turning over £24M and operating through two distinct brands and markets based in the Leeds/Bradford area.

This is a new position reporting directly to the Managing Director.

ESSENTIAL: Previous experience in transport and demand planning

As Head of Supply Chain, you will lead a team in providing first class customer service, meeting expectations in offering first time parts availability. Being part of an exciting, dynamic and fast paced business, which is passionate about achieving targets and customer satisfaction.

What you'll be doing:

  • Inspire, coach, support, motivate, develop and mentor eleven direct reports by sharing experience and knowledge to support their development and improve supply chain performance
  • Fully utilise appropriate performance management processes, career progression, personal development plans and where required, the management of under-performance in a timely manner
  • Ensure that the transport planning process is as efficient and robust as possible through effective process and systems management and links seamlessly with production planning
  • Manage the productivity and quality performance of the installation process with an emphasis on optimising the efficiency of the sub contract teams and co-ordination with installation planning
  • Responsible for meeting the requirements of the markets in which we operate, with first time availability of products
  • Negotiate supply level agreements that deliver quality, on time service levels, whilst minimising buffer stock
  • Identify stock management opportunities including residual stocks, short life product and inbound issues, creating joint plans with the business and third parties to resolve issues and mitigate risk

 What we'll need from you:

  • A passion for supply chain excellence and continuous improvement
  • A minimum of five years' experience within supply chain management
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
  • Strong leadership towards key deliverables (quality & cost) and operational excellence
  • Experience of working in a high SKU, fast stock turn business
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, mentor and motivate a team in a fast paced supply chain environment
  • Demonstrate a high level of commercial acumen as well as exceptional results from supply chain management, ideally within an FMCG environment
  • Experience of using planning and purchasing systems
