Lufthansa Cargo adds protective film as standard on cool services

Lufthansa Cargo has announced that all cargo transported in the passive refrigeration sector will now be protected against temperature changes through the use of a protective film.
The German airline said the innovative reflective film, which was produced exclusively for the carrier, provides sensitive shipments with optimum protection against the unavoidable sunlight on airport tarmacs around the world, even on hot summer days.
The product’s use will not come at an additional cost to customers.
“Our aim is to offer top quality transport for our customers’ freight, both in the air and on the ground. The free offer of our new special film underscores our dedication to high quality and perfects our refrigeration service”, said Sören Stark, board member operations at Lufthansa Cargo.
Earlier this year, Lufthansa Cargo started work on its new Cool Center at Frankfurt Airport, extending the current 4,500 sq m facility to 8,000 sq m.
The company has also launched a road feeder service catering for the cool sector.
