DHL’s Ly makes a Singapore comeback

DHL Global Forwarding has appointed Stephen Ly as managing director for Singapore. The former managing director for DHL Global Forwarding Philippines is returning to Singapore after nearly four years during which he was the head of customs brokerage services, Asia Pacific and Africa.
A 12-year career with the logistics giant, starting at DHL Express, includes lobbying for various legislative changes and reforms in customs regulations, as well as leading Australia’s biggest change management project for DHL.
DHL Global Forwarding Asia Pacific chief executive Kelvin Leung said: "Asia Pacific is a key region for DHL Global Forwarding and we see tremendous opportunities across air, ocean and road freight rising from the rapid growth in intra-Asia trade. It is important for us to firmly establish our geographic footprint in Asia Pacific by building a strong leadership team in each country that we operate in.”
He added that Leung would bring “a wealth of experience, proven track record and in-depth industrial knowledge, as well as a focus on driving success for our business."
