Amazon adds more land to Cincinnati air cargo hub

Online retail giant Amazon has added extra land to the $1.5bn air hub it is building at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport (CVG).
Dave Clark, Amazon senior vice president of worldwide operations, tweeted that the company had "just added 210 acres of land as part of the future CVG air hub".
"Excited for Amazon, Customers, and Kentucky," Clark added.
The news was welcomed by CVG, which said: "More great news for our region; further investment in Amazon’s future air hub. Appreciate the partnership & look forward to tremendous impact on local economy."
According to local press reports, the 210 acres is split over two sites on the west side of Aero Parkway – the largest measuring 188 acres.
The extra investment means the Amazon hub will take up a total area of 1,100 acres.
News of the new hub was first revealed in January last year. The giant e-tailer expects to create more than 2,000 new jobs and its eventual fleet of 40 aircraft, through a partnership with ATSG and Atlas Air, will be based at the hub and are expected to perform around 200 flights daily.
