Cargolux Italia in NCA codeshare to Japan

Cargolux Italia and Nippon Cargo Airlines (NCA) have entered into a partnership agreement for codeshare cargo flights from Italy’s Milan Malpensa Airport to Kansai International Airport in Japan, and from Malpensa to Tokyo’s Narita airport, subject to approvals from the aviation authorities.
A statement from the carriers said that the cooperation "represents an improved offering on the routes between Italy and Japan that also include two weekly flights from Milan Malpensa to Osaka and four weekly flights from Milan Linate to Narita, in addition to three weekly Cargolux flights from Luxembourg to Komatsu."
All flights benefit from connections to the Cargolux trucking networks in Europe and Japan, offering shippers several daily services between major European industrial centers and Japan.
The agreement "significantly boosts" Cargolux’s presence in the Japanese market that has long played an important role in the group’s Far Eastern network.
Said Cargolux Italia: "The flights introduce another fast and reliable freight lane for shippers in the Tokyo area to Europe, as well as opening up a new destination in Japan for European shippers."
Cargolux Italia’s parent company in Luxembourg is currently working on plans to launch a Chinese-based subsidiary all-cargo airline, while NCA recently confirmed that it has cancelled an order for four Boeing 747-8 freighters worth $1.5bn.
