Emirates SkyCargo adds Maastricht freighter flights

Emirates SkyCargo has begun operating two Boeing 777 Freighter flights per week between Dubai World Central airport and Maastricht – its second destination in the Netherlands after Amsterdam.
Nabil Sultan, Emirates divisional senior vice president, cargo, commented: “The Netherlands is one of our most important cargo markets globally and the freighters to Maastricht will allow us to build a stronger presence to respond to customer needs in the region.”
General cargo, e-commerce and pharmaceuticals are among the types of goods that the carrier expects to transport on these flights, which will supplement the cargo capacity available on Emirates passenger and freighter services to Amsterdam and provide connectivity for Belgian and German markets too.
The B777F has a cargo capacity of 100 tonnes and its wide maindeck cargo doors can accommodate large and outsized shipments.
Emirates SkyCargo intends to increase the Maastricht flights to a daily frequency from the end of March.
