Lufthansa Cargo gets seal of approval from German Equestrian Federation

Lufthansa Cargo is to become a ‘Premium Partner’ of the German Equestrian Federation (known by its international name as Federation Equestre Nationale (FN) an umbrella organisation for Germany’s breeders and horse riders.
The partnership is said to include long-term cooperation and cover such activities as joint marketing and various projects connected with equestrian sport.
This will include FN promoting Lufthansa Cargo’s services to its members, while experts from FN will work with the German carrier to further improve equine operations.
The award of Premium Partner status is also seen by Lufthansa Cargo as an acknowledgement of the quality of its services.
But Alexis von Hoensbroech, board member product and sales at Lufthansa Cargo, comments: “For us, the new partnership with the Equestrian Federation is also a way of honouring our many years in horse transportation.”
In fact, the freight carrier has been flying race horses, show jumping horses and dressage horses for more than 30 years.
According to Lufthansa Cargo, it offers “top-class travel” to all the animals it flies. The premium service includes the equine care provided in the stables at its Frankfurt Airport hub (in the ‘Frankfurt Animal Lounge’) as well as the transport onboard Lufthansa aircraft in specially designed horse boxes and the supervision provided on such flights by accompanying trained staff.
“This ensures that the animals are given the best possible attention at all times,” Lufthansa Cargo considers.
