New chief for Estonia’s Airest

Estonian cargo airline Airest has appointed Aleksei Lupitski as its new chief executive, taking over from Jaanus Ojamets, who has stepped down for personal reasons.
Lupitski has held senior management positions at various airlines for the last 20 years and, for the past eight was the president and chief executive of Lithuanian airline Avion Express, growing it from operating four Saab 340s into a global wet lease player with a fleet of 16 Airbus A320s.
Airest, with crew and air bases around Europe, has been providing ACMI and ad-hoc services since 2001 and currently operates none Saab 340F aircraft and one Bombardier CRJ200sf.
Lupitski thanked his predecessor “for the solid foundation created by his efforts”, adding: “My task now is to work to support our customers with a reliable and cost-efficient service and expand the range of solutions offered. Fortunately, I can rely on the great team at Airest who demonstrated their commitment and dedication in bringing the airline to its current position on the market.”
