RAF Avia adds freighter to Hahn operation

Latvian cargo airline RAF Avia has added a second aircraft to its operations based at Frankfurt-Hahn Airport.
The airline has been flying from the German airport since August but has now added a second aircraft to its set up.
Frankfurt-Hahn head of sales Roger Scheifele said the airline had decided to start flights from the airport because of its 24 hour operations, its flexible ground handling set up and its central location.

RAF Avia’s fleet consists of two Saab 340, which can carry 3.7 tonnes, and five Antonov An-26 aircraft, able to carry 5.5 tonnes. The airline celebrated its 25 anniversary in October last year.
In 2015, Frankfurt-Hahn was the sixth largest cargo airport in Germany, handling 80,000 tons.
In July, Chinese investor Shanghai Yiqian Trading Co took a majority stake in Frankfurt-Hahn Airport after months of speculation as to which firm would win a call for offers
