AF-KLM Martinair Cargo adds pharma capacity

AIR FRANCE-KLM-MARTINAIR Cargo has reinforced its commitment to the pharmaceuticals and healthcare industry by introducing a new scheduled belly-cargo service to Brasilia – and increasing freighter capacity out of Bombay.
The carrier has launched a new thrice-weekly B777-200ER service between Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and Brasilia, the federal capital of Brazil.
“This new route provides additional capacity to Brazil on top of our existing service to Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Viracopos and Curitiba,” says a statement.
The European airline has also added two extra weekly B747-400ERF services between Bombay and Amsterdam (SPL), making a total of four weekly freighter services on the route.
Two of the major pharmaceuticals markets in the world, Brazil and India are among the fastest growing in this sector.
They belong to the ‘Pharmerging’ group (along with China, Mexico, Turkey, Korea, and Russia), which is expected to account for three-quarters of world market growth.
“Whether shipping insulin, diabetes care products, plasma derivatives, vaccines, or healthcare-related commodities, Air France-KLM-Martinair Cargo’s wide range of air logistics services (Pharma Active, Pharma Control 2-8C°, Pharma Control 15-25C°, Pharma Control 2-25C°) offer solutions that answer the needs of pharmaceuticals and healthcare companies,” the statement adds.
Tailor-made solutions are also available.
