Volga-Dnepr delivers oil and gas drilling rig

VOLGA-DNEPR Airlines has transported this 24-metre long oil-and-gas drilling rig.
Outsize shipments technicians used a special aircraft ramp extension to load it onto an An-124-100 freighter, before a tractor dragged it into the cargo hold.
The rig was flown from the Russian city of Novy Urengoy to Mirny-based Krasnodar Drilling, a branch of the Gazprom Drilling Company and one of Russia’s largest specialists in oil and gas well construction.
It will be used at the Verkhnechonskoe oil and gas condensate field.
“The Volga-Dnepr team was very professional, diligent and responsive. The aircraft was positioned in time and the loading was performed without any errors or delays,” says Andrey Tsaryok, acting chief executive of Krasnodar Drilling.
Volga-Dnepr has performed more than 1,100 flights for leading customers operating in the oil and gas sector.
