Lufthansa offers real-time tracking

Lufthansa Cargo is now offering a liveSensor tracking service that allows customers to keep an eye on their shipments in real time throughout the entire transport route. The system can not only show where a shipment is, round-the-clock through a web portal, but also whether agreed conditions such as temperature, humidity and pressure have been complied with, along with data such as alignment and vibration.
Customers can define their own settings, along with geographic boundaries.
Light sensors show whether and when a shipment has been opened, as protection against theft.
Aimed at highly sensitive or valuable goods, the service is provided on a flat-fee basis including delivery and collection of the tracking device at destination.
LiveSensor is currently available in 13 European countries and the US and will gradually be rolled out worldwide.
