Canada’s Cargojet welcomes government investment budget

Canadian carrier Cargojet has welcomed a number of initiatives announced in the government’s latest federal budget.
These include investment to resolve critical transportation needs in the north of the country and to benefit its indigenous peoples, $152m in new funding to improve security screening at airports and an Innovation Canada platform to attract investment and encourage growth.
Cargojet president and chief executive Ajay Virmani said: "Cargojet is committed to working with the federal government on these and other initiatives that will strengthen the overall safety and security of Canada’s airports, create new jobs for all Canadians and improve the reliability and cost-effectiveness of critical air cargo transportation to Canada’s North."
Cargojet provides of time sensitive overnight air cargo services, carrying nearly 600 tonnes of cargo per night on its North American network with a fleet of 20 freighter aircraft.
