AirBridgeCargo continues US expansion

AirBridgeCargo (ABC) has continued the expansion of its US services with the introduction of a new call at fast-growing Seattle-Tacoma (Sea-Tac) airport.
The flight, which also calls at Moscow, Amsterdam, and Chicago, makes Seattle the airline’s sixth online gateway in North America.
ABC said that Seattle is not only one of the biggest cities in the Pacific Northwest region but also a major gateway for trade with Asia.
The new call at Seattle follows a deal with Seattle-based Boeing for B747s that will see ABC provide logistics services to the aircraft manufacturer.
ABC vice president North and South America Hendrik Falk said: “For the last couple of years we have significantly grown AirBridgeCargo’s footprint in the US in response to customer needs and the ever-changing market environment.
“We are excited to have added Seattle to our network and can now provide our customers with an even greater choice of options to and from the US.
“We expect our new Seattle service will enjoy strong support from customers transporting a wide variety of products, including aerospace components, machinery, fish, seafood and other perishables.”
He also praised the airport, which has won a number of cargo operations of late after expanding facilities.
“As an all-cargo operator, it is always rewarding to see airports that were previously mainly passenger oriented turning their attention towards cargo carriers,” Falk added.
“We have witnessed Sea-Tac’s commitment to supporting cargo operators and it is no wonder that the airport is gaining a much more prominent profile with cargo operators. We are proud to be adding Seattle to our growing network.”
”For customers in Asia, we will also offer solutions for aerospace cargoes from China, Japan, Korea and Singapore with a prime service to this important gateway,” added Robert van de Weg, ABC’s Senior Vice President, Marketing & Sales.
Port of Seattle Commission President John Creighton said: “AirBridgeCargo will expand Sea-Tac’s global reach with new direct freighter services to Moscow and Amsterdam. This will be a boost to our regional economy as these new export options are now easily accessible.”
The new Seattle service extends ABC’s existing network in North America, which provides customers with B747 freighter services to and from Dallas, Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles and Chicago.
The company also recently won the rights to operate services in the US via Europe to Columbus, Boston, Washington DC and San Francisco.
