American Airlines Cargo to offer temperature controlled ULD leasing to customers

American Airlines Cargo has announced it will begin leading its temperature controlled ULD to customers.
From November 1, the US airline will make its CSafe Global RKN ULD, which is able to maintain a precise temperature of four to 25 degrees Celsius, available for lease to customers.
It said the move would offer customers a “simpler, enhanced experience for shipping time- and temperature-sensitive products”.
American’s manager of cold chain strategy, Tom Grubb, said: “American is incredibly excited to introduce a new option that will give our customers the ability to lease these CSafe units directly from American, leading to a simpler and more efficient shipping experience.”
CSafe director of customer support and partner management Mark Mohr added: “American has been transporting CSafe containers for nearly a year and this new agreement will offer our mutual customers leasing options via a partner that is already well established in the transport of temperature-managed products by air.”
