First class for four-legged superstars

Qatar Airways Cargo was entrusted with the task of flying 50 of the finest European horses to compete at the Longines FEI World Cup Jumping and Dressage Finals.
The equine guests travelled on board a Boeing 777 freighter from Schiphol to Eppley Airfield in Omaha, Nebraska, and received world-class treatment and expert handling all the way.
Each horse stall on the freighter was loaded with two horses, with a total of 11 grooms attending to their needs.
The aircraft maintained an ideal ambient temperature of 12 – 15 degrees Celsius throughout and freighter also carried 20 tonnes of equipment.
Qatar will also fly the equine superstars back to Amsterdam after the show is over.
Qatar’s chief officer cargo, Ulrich Ogiermann, said, “Qatar Airways Cargo accomplished another successful equine charter this month. We place great emphasis on care and safety in live animal transportation, particularly horses which require specialist service and well-trained staff. We offer personalised solutions, high quality operations and an excellent record of on-time delivery, making us the premier carrier of live animals.”
