Hawaiian Airlines opts for SmartKargo

Hawaiian Airlines has become the first carrier in the Americas to deploy the SmartKargo air cargo management solution as it looks to continue recent improvements in cargo volumes.
The cloud-based SmartKargo system is a single integrated solution linking everyone in the supply chain meaning anyone from shipper to recipient can access it – subject to access controls imposed by the airline – to enter or retrieve data.
The deployment of the system comes as the airline continues to grow and the hope is the new system will help improve figures further.
SmartKargo founder and chief executive Milind Tavshikar said: “Hawaiian Airlines has increased its cargo business more than 40% in the last three years, and SmartKargo will facilitate further growth."
Hawaiian’s vice president cargo Tim Strauss added: “My Hawaiian colleagues and SmartKargo have worked hard to make this launch a success, and we couldn’t be happier. SmartKargo is already proving its promise to improve the experience for customers and employees.”
Hawaiian operates a fleet of 20 Airbus A330-200 and 10 Boeing 767-300 aircraft for long-range services throughout the Pacific, and 18 Boeing 717 and 3 ATR-42 for flights within the state of Hawaii.
