Pilot strike halves Lufthansa Cargo’s scheduled freighter flights

MORE than 50 per cent of Lufthansa Cargo’s scheduled freighter flights have been affected by the three-day pilot strike.
“We were able to operate 15 of the scheduled 33 freighter flights during the strike time,” reveals Michael Göntgens, spokesperson for Lufthansa Cargo
All together some 4,500 tonnes of cargo have been affected by the strike.
“We have made extensive preparations to minimize the impact on our customers. We will resume normal flight operations from tomorrow,” he adds.
The strike staged by the pilots’ union Vereinigung Cockpit (VC) ends on Friday night. The pilots want a new pay and pensions agreement from the German carrier.
