Southwest appoints new director of cargo sales

Dallas-based Southwest Airlines has appointed Steve Langhart to the post of director of cargo sales.
The role covers leading the carrier’s cargo sales team, including field, national and inside sales, as well as responsibility for all business development efforts.
Since joining Southwest in 2008, Langhart has held positions including manager of ramp and operations and cargo customer service manager at Houston’s Hobby Airport, and senior manager of cargo customer experience.
Noting Langhart’s previous roles at two other airlines, Matt Buckley, vice president of cargo and charters at Southwest, commented: “Steve’s vast leadership experience in the airline industry and his intimate knowledge of the Southwest Airlines Cargo operation make him a perfect fit for his new role.”
