Athens in the swim with dolphins cargo

Athens International Airport played host to a pod of three dolphins flying out to Lithuania.
A two year old female and two mature females were flown to Siauliai airport under the care of Goldair Handling.
The valuable cargo was transported from Athens by the Lithuanian Air Force using an Alenia C-27j Spartan aircraft.
The aircraft carried two water tanks with the three dolphins.  Each adult dolphin weighs about 250kg plus with the water required, giving a total weight of around 3,500 kilos
