New warehouse truck management system for Swissport

Swissport Cargo Services has begun using a new Cargo Flash Infotech software system for doors and slot management at its Madrid warehouse ahead of its global implementation.
The system manages planned truck movements at Swissport’s warehouse and will therefore help reduce congestion, the software provider said.
The objective of the doors and slot management system, which is part of the overall nGen System, is to manage and direct trucks to the correct door based on shipment contents as well as to manage the planned truck arrival in advance.
The system uses configurable algorithms to link each door with a truck and inform the handler about truck arrivals in advance.
The nGen doors and slot management system is scheduled to be implemented at the remaining Swissport cargo stations globally in a planned rollout during the next 12 months.
