Wisskirchen to be new cargo handler at Cologne/Bonn airport

Wisskirchen has secured a 30-year concession for cargo handling at Germany’s Cologne/Bonn Airport, starting in July this year.
The airport authority said: “With this step the airport is securing long-term growth and employment in the general cargo business.”
Germany-based Wisskirchen will lease the cargo terminal and receive a 30-year handling concession at Cologne/Bonn.
The airport authority statement said that the 40 airport employees who work in the cargo terminal will keep their jobs and remain employed by the airport, adding: “There will be no compulsory redundancies”.
Wisskirchen Handling Services is a subsidiary of Wisskirchen Logistik, which has been offering cargo handling services since 2002.
The company, which has operations at Frankfurt and Munich, handles more than 650,000 tonnes of air cargo every year with around 650 employees and has more than 25 years of experience in the industry. Wisskirchen has operated a branch at Cologne/Bonn Airport since 2004.
