IAG Cargo and Exelsius hold sixth GDP workshop

IAG Cargo and Exelsius Consultancy recently held the sixth in their series of international Good Distribution Practices (GDP) Academy workshops, this time in Mumbai – the second time the Academy has visited India.
Attended by students from 15 companies, the two-day course offered a combination of both classroom and practical training in GDP designed to give a detailed understanding of the compliance needs of GDP from an end–to-end perspective.
Practical and interactive group work allowed participants to examine individual aspects of the pharmaceutical supply chain and its risks, supported by a hands-on passive packaging exercise and demonstration.
To enhance their learning experience, students also visited the Cargo Service Centre handling facility at Mumbai Airport and witnessed the acceptance, storage and dispatch of shipments within the temperature-controlled environment that has been specifically designed to meet the needs of local manufacturers and shippers.
Pritam Singh of Kintetsu Worlwide Express said: “This is one of the most fantastic course platforms to learn about GDP and practice this in your daily work.”
Alan Dorling of IAG Cargo and Tony Wright of Exelsius jointly added: “GDP remains a vital part of the international pharmaceutical supply chain and we are delighted with the response we have had to our second Indian Academy workshop.
"We are sure that it will drive participant companies towards formal GDP certification and look forward to supporting them in that important task."
