European airfreight volumes pick up

According to the latest edition of Danske Bank Markets’ European Freight Forwarding Index, airfreight volumes rose in August when compared with June, reaching 57.
This upward trend is expected to continue during September and October, based on the predictions of respondents – who were asked for their current volumes versus two months ago, and anticipated volumes two months ahead.
The survey covers road, sea and air cargo with participating companies drawn from countries including Belgium, Denmark, various nations in Eastern Europe, Finland, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK, among others.
