Ontic opts for B&H Worldwide for AOG support

Logistics services provider B&H Worldwide has been appointed by Ontic, a wholly owned subsidiary of BBA Aviation, to act as a warehouse and inventory management company to support Ontic’s aircraft on ground (AOG) service provision around the world.
A B&H climate-controlled facility near Heathrow will act as a principal service centre. The facility, stocked exclusively with Ontic or Ontic-licenced parts, will offer 24 hour a day support.
The centre’s close proximity to London Heathrow offers the potential for rapid transport of parts through one of the world’s best-connected airports.
As well as parts, Ontic also provides maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for legacy aerospace platforms from a number of facilities around the world.
All shipments out of Heathrow will be co-ordinated through B&H’s OnTrack web portal. Through this, customers can log in to have their parts despatched – and provide comprehensive accompanying instructions on how this should take place – at any hour of the day or night.
Meanwhile, parts are also transported into B&H’s Heathrow facility from all over the world. Any customer logged-in can identify where the stock is during the shipment process and can even see a picture of the stock item.
“The bespoke nature of our service solution is what appealed to Ontic,” said B&H Worldwide’s customer solutions manager, Chris Allen.
“It’s the kind of customer service where our specialist knowledge of the aerospace logistics industry stands out from the crowd and where we can deliver the highly technical support Ontic requires from producing the correct documentation to providing electro-static equipment and a humidity controlled atmosphere for storing their parts.”
