Success for Air Cargo News’ Roger Hailey at journalist awards

Air Cargo News editor Roger Hailey last night scooped the Air Cargo Journalist of the Year Award 2017 at the prestigious Seahorse Club Awards.
As well as Hailey scooping the overall air cargo award, sponsored by Air Canada Cargo, regular Air Cargo News contributor Chris Lewis received the runner up prize for a piece he wrote for the publication and news editor Damian Brett was shortlisted in three categories.
Hailey won the award for his evocative article that exposed the illegal trafficking of wildlife, which can be seen here, while Lewis’ piece on air cargo pharma logistics secured him the runner up prize.
You can view Lewis’ article by registering for the Air Cargo News digital archive.
Hailey was appointed editor of Air Cargo News in 2014 and last year oversaw the move to a monthly print format in conjunction with daily news updates on aircargonews.net.
This allowed the printed publication to adopt a more analytical approach, while the website and associated e-mail news bulletins and social media posts keep readers up-to-date with the latest breaking news.
Said Hailey: "It was a great night for the entire Air Cargo News team of in-house journalists and established freelances, and this award demonstrates that our new format allows for greater in-depth reporting of the important challenges facing our industry."
The Seahorse Club is a networking group for journalists and professionals in the freight, shipping and logistics industry.
