Swissport appoints communications chief

Air cargo and ground handling company Swissport International has appointed Christoph Meier as vice president head of group communications.
A Swiss national, he takes over strategic and operational responsibilities for all group communications, reporting directly to group president and chief executive, Eric Born.

He joins Swissport from Lufthansa Group, where he was head of communication strategy and planning and before that was head of media relations for southeast Europe, Middle East & Africa, before taking on responsibility for group media relations at Lufthansa head office.
Eric Born commented: “As the world’s leader in airline ground and cargo handling, Swissport is best positioned to address today’s and tomorrow’s challenges of the aviation industry.
"The vision of Swissport is to be the world’s most trusted and reliable single-source airline ground services supplier of choice. This of course is best achieved through consistent and trustworthy communications towards all stakeholders.”
