Schenker’s Belgium hub gets TAPA

DB SCHENKER’S new hub at Zwevegem is the global logistics company’s first facility in Belgium to be awarded Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA) certification.
The type ‘A’ certificate is the highest offered by the security standards organisation for activities related to the security of freight in transit.
Accreditation involved rigorous auditing of the security infrastructure and the warehouse facility, which opened to handle pan-European goods last August, says a statement.
It boasts a logistics area of more than 5,000 sq m and a cross-docking terminal equipped with more than 70 unloading and loading bays.
“Our efforts to offer our customers a safe and secure facility for handling their goods has been rewarded by the external certification body Det Norske Veritas (DNV), with the highest level certificate,” says Ulrich Pütz, managing director of Schenker.
