THAI CARGO is in the process of applying for European Union security accreditation to handle airfreight from customers in New Delhi and Madras.

The regulations require air carriers flying air cargo and mail into the EU to be designated as an ‘Air Cargo or Mail Carrier operating into the Union from a Third Country Airport’ (ACC3).

THAI has already been validated as a Regulated Agent (RA3), enabling it to accept cargo on behalf of its airline customers for carriage to EU States in accordance with ACC3 security rules.

A spokesperson states: “We want to be able to meet the increasing demand for belly hold and freighter shipments to countries in the European Union from these cities.”

THAI is also in the process of renewing its ACC3 validation for Bangkok Airport, awarded in January 2012.
