Software guardian for Australian cargo compliance

Cargo Guardian, a compliance management software for the Australian air cargo industry, is set to launch before the end of July.
It has been developed by industry specialists to integrate with airfreight operational processes and existing data exchange practices.
A statement from the Cargo Guardian developer said: “Ground handlers, airlines and freight forwarders will all benefit from the solution once it moves into production this month.
"The system verifies compliance obligations to elements of Australia’s Air Cargo Security Program as defined by the Office of Transport Security, as well as elements of the legislative framework for the carriage of dangerous goods by air, under the Civil Aviation Act.”
In addition, Cargo Guardian also equips freight forwarders and airlines to “rapidly and efficiently” implement IATA Resolution 651 – Cargo Security, the best practice for standardising security declarations across the industry.
Cargo Guardian will allow every air cargo shipment that departs Australia to travel under IATA Resolution 651, and so enable Australia to become “a global leader in this vital industry initiative”.
The solution, said Cargo Guardian, also forms a solid basis from which to implement other global security initiatives such as the recently announced World Customs Organisation (WCO) ‘7+1’ data set, helping to standardise preloading advance cargo information (PLACI).
