TIACA’s Brittin to retire at end of 2016

Doug Brittin, TIACA’s secretary general since 2013, is to retire from the air cargo industry association at the end of this year, sparking a search to appoint his successor.
TIACA chairman Sanjiv Edward said in a message to members: “Doug has done a great job since joining us, and while we are of course saddened to learn of this event, we are encouraged by his offer to remain associated with TIACA in an advisory capacity.
“This will help ensure not only a smooth transition to a new secretary general, but will also ensure continuity in the many policy initiatives in which we are engaged globally. Doug’s vast level of experience in this area will be greatly appreciated.”
TIACA has established a small group, headed up by vice chairman Sebastiaan Scholte, and including board members Vladimir Zubkov, Russi Batliwala and Brittin to evaluate and nominate a successor.
Said Edward: “They have commenced the process of recruiting and reviewing potential candidates. Their recommendation will then be brought forward to the board of directors for selection and vote, in accordance with our by-laws.
“While we want to ensure we have the best candidate to fill this critical role, we also hope to be able to announce the selection quickly.”

 TIACA will hold its Air Cargo Forum in Paris during late October.
Said Edward: “The board is actively engaged with our team in Miami for promoting the TIACA organisational and business objectives. In the meantime, Doug and the team in Miami continue to focus on making the ACF in Paris one of our best ever.”
