SF Airlines adds another freighter

SF Airlines has continued its fleet expansion through the delivery of a B757-200 converted freighter.
The freighter is the 41st in the airline’s expanding fleet, which stood at 36 aircraft this time last year. Its fleet now includes five B767s, 19 B757s and 17 B737s.
The airline also revealed that last year it handled more than 400,000 tons of shipments and performed more than 50,000 flight hours.
The airline also recently purchased two B747-400 freighters through an online auction. The aircraft were previously owned by insolvent German-Chinese carrier Jade Cargo and were bought for Yuan160.8m and Yuan162.
The aircraft were owned by a state court, which took possession of the B747s after Jade Cargo filed for bankruptcy in 2013.
The purchase of the B747s will "support SF Airlines’ further deployment of its domestic and international airline networks and accelerate [parent] SF Express’ in-depth business development" the express carrier said.
