Copenhagen tops for FedEx

FedEx is expanding its presence in Europe with a new gateway facility at Denmark’s Copenhagen Airport that has undergone its ‘roof-topping’ and completion of the external structure.
The 8,000 sq m sortation hub will process 11,500 packages per day, incorporating areas for dangerous goods and cold storage when it opens at the end of 2015.
The next stage involves the installation and testing of the automated parcel sort system, representing an investment of €4m.
This organic growth in Scandinavia will enable FedEx to help customers in Denmark and Sweden boost their cross-border business ahead of the busy peak season at the end of this year.
