A380 too quiet

AIRBUS is hearing complaints from pilots that its new A380 is too quiet. The pilots say that instead of the constant engine drone, which they can blank out, they now hear every sound from the passengers making it almost impossible to sleep on their breaks.

In addition the crew’s quarters are now positioned at the back of the plane to make more room for first-class seating and are not sound proofed to cut weight. Passengers often mistake it for a lavatory and knock on the door waking up the crew.
