ABX touted out

ABX Logistics is being offered up to global freight companies, as owner 3i Group Plc prepares to sell its assets.

The business could fetch up to 600 million euros, according to analysts, as global demand for freight services rises.

The Asia-Pacific region accounted for 45 per cent of ABX’s total in 2007, making it an attractive acquisition.

Laurent Levaux has led ABX Logistics as chief executive officer since March 2003 and oversaw its privatisation when 3i bought it from Belgium’s national railroad company SNCB Holding in 2006. Its majority shareholders are 3i and the management of ABX Logistics.
