AeroUnion freighter crashes in Mexico

AN AeroUnion freighter crashed yesterday leaving the northern Mexican city of Monterry on its way to Los Angeles, killing at least five people.

The Airbus A300B4-200, registration XA-TUE, crashed at around 11pm local time killing two people on board and three on the ground. A large fire broke out after the crash and the area was blocked off by emergency services.

“At present we believe there may be five people dead, two from the crew and three on the ground, but nothing is confirmed yet,” said a state emergency authority official.

The cause of the accident is not immediately clear.
