Agility connects China to Lithuania

LOGISTICS player Agility is building up links between China and the Nordic markets with the introduction of a scheduled freighter service from Shanghai (China) to Kaunas (Lithuania).

Agility’s weekly freighter, with 107 metric tonnes payload, will help open up capacity to northern Europe, Russia and the Baltics.

The service also includes additional supply chain solutions: pick-up and warehousing in China, customs clearance and warehousing in Kaunas.

Together with Lithuanian partner Hoptrans, Agility provides freight forwarding over land from Kaunas to all major cities in the region. At the destination, customer options will include customs clearance, warehousing in bonded and non-bonded facilities.

“Northern Europe, the Nordics, Russia and the Baltics all show increasing demand for airfreight,” said Michael Blaufuss, Agility’s senior vice-president of airfreight. “With our own freighter service, we are now uniquely positioned to offer end-to-end supply chain solutions that offer reliability and speed on these important trade routes.”
