Air France-KLM drops services

AIR France-KLM has suspended its cargo service to Guangzhou, China and discontinued its Paris-Philadelphia service.

The Guangzhou service stopped as of the New Year due to unsustainable cargo volume levels. Cargo traffic from the region to the US dropped by 23 per cent in November last year compared to 2007. Air France has said that it will resume the service in the summer if demand grows to more acceptable levels.

The Paris-Philadelphia service will stop on 4 October of this year, again due to a drop in demand. Due to a code- and revenue-sharing agreement between the two airlines Delta will take over the service on 5 October.
