AirBridgeCargo management roundabout continues

After an major reorganisation of its senior management earlier this year, AirBridgeCargo (ABC) is set for further upheaval in the New Year as it looks for a solution to rising losses in today’s difficult climate.

Sources told Air Cargo News that Robert Song has been demoted from his position of commercial manager global to become regional manager Asia. In addition, it is alleged that Gennady Pivovarov, executive president of the airline, will quit in January, having only recently been promoted to the role. Pivovarov had previously held senior management positions in Volga-Dnepr Airlines, between 2000-2007.

ABC issued a response to the news, stating: “We cannot either confirm or deny information regarding ABC’s top management. As regards Mr Song, initially for personal reasons Robert agreed to take the position of ABC commercial director for the period of one year in line with his contract and we highly appreciate Robert’s willingness to support his company and to contribute to the completion of our business goals. Since this period is now over, he has returned to his previous position of vice-president for Asia and Pacific.”
