BOC adds to Airbus order
Aircraft lessor BOC Aviation has placed a firm order for five more A321 aircraft in addition to an order announced in January for 30 A320 Family aircraft.
“We have increased our order for the A321 in response to the market trend and appetite for larger capacity single-aisle aircraft,” said Robert Martin, managing director and chief executive of BOC Aviation. “Our incremental order reflects the continued popularity, confidence and reliability of the A320 Family among our customers.”
BOC Aviation is one of Airbus’ top 10 customers. Including this latest purchase agreement, BOC Aviation’s cumulative orders to date for new Airbus aircraft have reached a total of 311 aircraft, comprising of 12 A330s of which five are freighters, and 299 A320 Family including 67 A321s (16 A321neo and 51 A321ceo).
Mauritania Airlines in for B737-800
Mauritania Airlines has finalised an order for one Next-Generation B737-800 airplane, valued at $96m at current list prices.
“The Boeing 737 is the backbone of Mauritania Airlines fleet because of its efficiency and superior operating economics,” said Mohamed Radhy Bennahi, chief executive of Mauritania Airlines. “The addition of this new 737-800 will greatly expand our network and enhance the overall travel experience of our passengers.”
The 737-800 is one of the best-selling versions of the highly successful Next-Generation 737 family.
Based in Mauritania’s capital city Nouakchott, at Nouakchott-Oumtounsy International Airport, Mauritania Airlines was founded in 2010 and currently serves more than 10 destinations across Africa and Europe.
The Mauritanian flag-carrier currently operates a fleet which includes one Next-Generation 737-700 and two 737-500s.
