Kenning has worked in logistics and supply chain management for more than 23 years, starting as a management trainee with Maersk in 1992 and working his way up through a variety of customer and supply chain management roles within the AP Moller-Maersk Group.
Kenning has also worked for Deloitte Consulting as a senior consultant in supply chain management and but most recently worked for Damco as head of key account and strategic sales.
ACS chief executive Charles McGurin said: “Alan’s appointment marks an important step for the supply chain management function.
“Ours is already one of the strongest in the industry, but Alan’s knowledge and experience will help us to move forward into the next exciting stage of growth.”
