ANA to max-out cargo

BOEING is facing cargo-friendly demands for its 737 MAX aircraft, which is currently under development.

“When we’re flying the plane domestically we can cope with it not being able to carry containers,” All Nippon Airlines’ president Shinichiro Ito comments. “[But] when we fly it overseas, we want to be able to carry cargo.”

Variations call for more space or a better layout for ULDs.

ANA already operates 56 737s with 10 on order.

Boeing plans to deliver the 737 MAX, an upgrade of its most-widely flown jet, from 2017, 50 years after the 737 first flew.
