Aramex wins Green award

THE Green Association, has highlighted Aramex’s wide commitment to community development, through its cost-effective environmental and sustainable business practices.
The 2008 Gold International Green Apple Award was awarded to Aramex for Environmental Best Practice and Sustainable Development – Asian region – in the commerce and industry category. Camille Nasrallah, chief executive officer, Aramex, accepted the award on the company’s behalf at the gala ceremony on 10 November held at the House of Commons in London.
The Green Apple Award judges said: “This global logistics company aims to be the first to operate in a carbon-neutral manner and their expenditure underlines their intentions. Investment in electric and hybrid vehicles and dramatic reductions in paper and plastic use, have helped get their footprint to a more manageable size.”
Nasrallah said: “We continually work to adopt sustainable development practices that improve both the present and future of communities we are involved in.”
