ATI reaches “tentative agreement” with pilot union

Air Transport International (ATI), a subsidiary of aircraft lessor Air Transport Services Group (ATSG), has reached a “tentative agreement” with its pilots group.
The US-based freighter lessor has been negotiating with the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA), which represents ATI’s pilots, to amend the existing collective bargaining agreement since May 2014.
The new agreement, if ratified, would extend for four years.
The negotiations have included such issues as salaries, retirement and insurance, with a mediator helping to broker the new contract since ALPA requested intervention in July 2017.
According to Tom Rogers, chair of the ATI pilots group’s Master Executive Council: “Our pilots are reasonably happy, and we have a generally positive relationship with management.
"We don’t file a lot of grievances, and we have great clients. However, we need to nail down this contract to meet our operational needs and attract and retain pilots to secure the future of our carrier.”
