BA strike blocked

BRITISH Airways’ (BA) turbulent relationship with its striking cabin crew’s union continues. A Court has ruled in BA’s favour and declared a proposed five-day strike unlawful due to a technicality in the strike ballot.

The carrier commented on its win by asking the union to “take this opportunity to pause and focus on achieving the early and peaceful end to this dispute which the travelling public and all our employees want”.

The union is appealing the decision leading most to believe that further disruptions are likely. It has also admitted that the only sticking point in negotiations now is reinstatement of travel perks for those staff that went on strike earlier in the year.
