BAWC and DHL sign airfreight security agreement

DHL Global Forwarding and British Airways World Cargo (BAWC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that sees BA join DHL’s strategic air cargo security partnership.

The new agreement aims to create a common understanding of standard operating procedures for high-value and high-risk air cargo and sees the two cooperating on security best practices and information on crime trends.

“We are delighted to be teaming up with DHL,” said Steve Gunning, managing director, BAWC. “We recognise the importance and value of such a partnership in enhancing supply chain security.”

“We are very pleased to welcome British Airways World Cargo in our security partnership program,” said Michael Schaecher, executive vice-president and head of global airfreight, DHL Global Forwarding. “Both parties can now combine their expertise to contribute jointly making the supply chain more secure. The close cooperation with our main partners in the airline sector is an essential part of our strategic direction to our customers with the best-in-class security approach.”
