Brussels Airport’s new cargo community system

BRUSSELS Airport, with help from private companies and the local chamber of commerce, has launched a ground-breaking new cargo community system [CCS].
Reckoned to be a global first, the cloud-based communications facility allows all players in the cargo zone – and others – to exchange information faster and more efficiently.
It enables an easier, more reliable and faster, real-time exchange of information between the various players, including shippers, forwarders, airlines, truckers, handling agents, the Brussels Airport Company, Customs and Belgium’s Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain (FAVV).
“Nowadays, an efficient cargo community system is indispensable for the development of any logistics cluster and certainly for BRUcargo,”states Steven Polmans, head of cargo at Brussels Airport.
