CAL Cargo signs Canada GSA

FREIGHTER airline CAL Cargo has appointed Exp-Air Cargo as its general sales agent in Canada, writes Thelma Etim, deputy editor
Eyal Zagagi, CAL’s chief executive, says a key element in the Israeli carrier’s stratagem is strengthening its transAtlantic east operations – following the introduction of a weekly service from Greater Moncton to Liege in Belgium.
“Partnering with EXP-Air will significantly enhance our activity from Canada in general and from Moncton in particular,” he says.
Daniel Ouellette, president of Exp-Air, reveals that EXP-Air has offices in Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, Winnipeg and Calgary, and plans to expand in the Canadian Atlantic market will be a perfect fit for CAL’s current gateway to Europe from Moncton.
Danny Olynick, the GSA’s vice-president of sales, says the joint network of both companies and upper-deck capacity from Moncton to Liege “will provide a frequent, reliable, open-nose and temperature-controlled cargo option to our customers in Atlantic Canada.
“The ability to transport perishables, such as fresh seafood – the jewel of our area – as well as other categories of special cargo including oversized and overweight items, is a real advantage to our Canadian customers."
