Casey leaves Pemco after management reshuffle

PEMCO World Air Services has appointed Pastor Lopez as chief executive in a series of management changes that see company president Kevin Casey leave the US-based aircraft conversions specialist.
In a statement, PEMCO said that it has undergone “an internal corporate restructuring in an effort to improve operational efficiencies and continue the company’s growth and success”.
Bringing nearly 30 years of industry experience, Lopez will be responsible for the “growth and sustainability of Pemco’s leading maintenance and conversion operations”.
Lopez stated: "Joining a company with such a rich tradition and one that is probably more successful than at any time in its history is a great challenge and the opportunity to take Pemco to the next stage is one that I am truly looking forward to.
“We have great people and both our MRO and conversion services are industry-leaders. Watch this space as we drive strategic initiatives to develop and support long-term growth, profitability and operational influence.”
Casey’s departure is a surprise. He led a new look Pemco out of Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection after its sale to Avion Services Holdings – an affiliate of Sun Capital Partners – in March 2012.
Most recently, Lopez served as vice president of AAR Aircraft Component and Landing Gears overseeing the Amsterdam, Kuala Lumpur, Miami and New York business units.
In this role, Lopez was responsible for "driving strategic initiatives to develop and support long-term growth, profitability and operational excellence". Previously, Lopez was vice president and general manager of AAR Landing Gear Services, managing over 380 employees in the Miami and Malaysian facilities.
“Pastor is very well regarded and has a track record of developing successful, profitable operations that customers appreciate and employees respect,” said George Fedeanis, director of sales.
Additional management changes outlined by Lopez see Shane King become vice president of maintenance for Pemco while George Fedeanis will oversee all commercial Pemco business.
